‘Howler’ – These West Ham fans savage one player v Liverpool

When you go to Anfield to face Premier League leaders Liverpool, as West Ham United did on Monday, the last thing you need is costly individual mistakes.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are so good and have so much attacking talent at their disposal that they really don’t need any help finding the back of the net.

However, Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski certainly failed to deal with Georginio Wijnaldum’s header correctly in the hosts’ 3-2 win.

The Poland international has typically been absolutely rock solid since he joined the club from Swansea City.

But he should have done better with the Dutchman’s headed effort. It almost looked like the Irons ‘keeper was trying to do too much, look a bit flashy, and saw it backfire. He also produced a shocker for Mohamed Salah’s goal, as well.

He has significant credit in the bank, of course, given how good he’s been in a claret and blue shirt.

However, there’s no denying that he’s not been quite at his top level since returning from injury last month.

That’s certainly the view of some Hammers supporters, with one of them saying he had a ‘howler’ on Monday.

In other West Ham news, David Moyes has named the player who has really kicked on while he’s been away.
