Henry Winter shares whether David Moyes will remain at West Ham United live on talkSPORT

Henry Winter believes David Moyes will walk away from West Ham this summer following the ongoing speculation about his future.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Sunday (31 March), The Times journalist told host Marcus Buckland that the Hammers will miss the Scotsman if he does decide to leave the club as he urged the fans to show him a bit more patience, support and gratitude for what he’s achieved.

He suggested that the Irons could look at someone like Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick to replace him due to his connections to the club as a player.

“Why do you think it is that West Ham fans have got it in for Moyes and do you see him lasting beyond the summer?” asked Buckland.

“To that, no,” said Winter. “I think that he’ll walk away and they will miss him. David Moyes, what’s he done? Almost 1,000 matches. He’s an LMA legend, hall of fame.

“Who are they going to get? Maybe long term, they would be looking at a Michael Carrick if he keeps developing at Middlesbrough. A very good young coach, obviously he’s got his West Ham connections after coming through there as a kid.

“But give him (Moyes) a bit more patience, support and gratitude for what he’s done.”

Could David Moyes leave West Ham?

It’s hard to really call whether or not Moyes will leave West Ham as the situation appears to be constantly changing after every game.

It seems like it could be down to the Hammers boss whether or not he remains at the London Stadium after he previously admitted he’s been offered a new deal.

But if the board aren’t content with the job he does over the final few weeks of the season and believes progress may have stalled, then it could change its stance and decide to part ways with him.

The debate over the Scotsman’s future has come back around again after the Irons capitulated in the latter stages of the 4-3 defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday (30 March) after being 3-1 ahead.

It’s results of that nature that have turned some of the fans against him as it feels like he may have to do something special again this season to get them back on side.
