Harry Redknapp raves about West Ham United defender Craig Dawson

Harry Redknapp has showered heaps of praise on West Ham defender Craig Dawson, saying he was “pretty solid” against Fulham in the Premier League.

The Hammers defender earned a penalty for his side after he was fouled in the box, and Redknapp has hailed his “clever” movement.

While picking his Team of the Week for BetVictor, Redknapp has included Dawson and his teammate Gianluca Scamacca who scored on Sunday at the London Stadium.

“He’s such a danger in both penalty boxes. He won West Ham their penalty with some clever movement at a corner, and at the back, he was pretty solid throughout. He’s someone David Moyes can rely on, that’s for sure,” said Redknapp on Dawson.

Final season?

This could be the final season for Dawson at the London Stadium.

The 32-year-old was heavily linked with an exit during the summer, but David Moyes wanted to keep him for another season.

Dawson has been terrific for the Hammers. He was simply outstanding last season and it seems he is getting better with age.

Against Fulham, he was very clever in the box and forced Andreas Pereira to make a mistake. He earned a penalty from which Jarrod Bowen scored the equaliser for the home side.

According to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers are convinced that Dawson will agree a new deal at the club.

The veteran defender is in the final year of his contract at the London Stadium, and he will be allowed to leave, possibly next summer. This hasn’t affected his game at all as he continues to shine for his club.

Dawson wants to stay close to his family, and West Ham must respect his decision.
