Happy to see Gianluca Scamacca scoring first goal for West Ham United in Premier League – Tomas Soucek

Tomas Soucek believes West Ham United will need more goals from newly-signed striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Italy international scored his first Premier League goal in the match against Wolves at the weekend and helped the side in securing their second win in the competition.

Soucek was quoted by the club’s official website where he expressed his happiness in seeing Scamacca opening his account in the Premier League.

“It was a nice goal,” he said. “I know that he has scored some goals in the Conference League and now he has scored a similar goal [in the league].

“I am happy he has scored his first goal in the Premier League and I hope he adds many in the future because we need his goals.”

Crucial

West Ham’s domestic performances this season have left the fans worried and rightly so as they were in the drop zone when the teams went into the international break.

But the London Stadium-faithful will be hoping that a much-needed 2-0 win against another struggling side Wolves is finally the start of something good for the Hammers and their season might well be up and running after this result.

West Ham

The Irons invested a lot in the summer transfer window where they signed eight first-team players and before Saturday, not many have come to the party.

However, with Scamacca scoring a worldie, it will be a sigh of relief, especially for manager David Moyes who will be hoping to see much more from the player who scored 16 league goals in the 2021/22 season in Italy for Sassuolo [Transfermarkt].

The 23-year-old joined West Ham in the summer in a deal worth £35.5 million [Sky Sports]. Since then, he has scored four goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.
