Guido Rodriguez stance on West Ham United emerges amid ‘Tough’ verdict
Guido Rodriguez is having a tough time at West Ham United since his move to the London Stadium in the previous transfer window, according to Sport.
The Spanish news outlet claims [14 November] that the Argentina international is struggling at the Hammers after leaving Real Betis at the end of his contract last season.
Rodriguez had offers to extend his deal at the La Liga outfit after becoming a key player for them but instead opted to link up with Julen Lopetegui.
Guido Rodriguez has struggled at West Ham United
It’s safe to say that Rodriguez hasn’t been enjoying his time at West Ham, with the team currently sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
The 30-year-old has been a prominent fixture in Lopetegui’s plans this season, featuring in every league match.
Alongside Edson Alvarez, the World Cup winner has been the former Wolves manager’s preferred option in the middle of the park.
The London Stadium faithful were excited to see a player of Rodriguez’s calibre choose the Hammers, but the midfielder has disappointed fans, and it feels like the intensity of the English top flight is something he can’t handle.

Alvarez and the Argentine aren’t the most mobile players, and the lack of pace in the engine room has seen the Irons struggle to cope with most opposition teams.
Rodriguez is a defensive midfielder, and it would be unfair to expect the 30-year-old to be a creative force in the team, although he needs to turn things around quickly before fans call for him to be axed from the team.
