Graham Potter twist at West Ham as David Sullivan talks to another manager
David Sullivan has spoken to Paulo Fonseca about taking the reins at West Ham United, according to TBR Football.
The outlet reported via their website on 7 January that the Portuguese tactician, who was under consideration by the Irons before Julen Lopetegui’s appointment, is back in the frame at the London Stadium.
Fonseca is without a job after being sacked by AC Milan last month and is viewed in his regard by the East London outfit, although Graham Potter remains the favourite to replace Lopetegui.
Paulo Fonseca CV better than Graham Potter’s as West Ham continue hunt
It appears Potter’s Premier League experience is giving him an advantage over Fonseca for the West Ham managerial job.
However, it is worth noting that the former AC Milan boss has won a total of nine trophies with three different teams during his coaching career.
Meanwhile, Potter’s only major trophy came in 2017 when he led Ostersunds to Swedish Cup glory.
Fonseca, therefore, has an edge over the former Chelsea manager in that regard and it remains to be seen if that will benefit him in the Hammers’ considerations.
Nevertheless, it appears the writing is on the wall for Lopetegui at West Ham.

Sullivan is known for being reluctant to sack managers in the middle of the season and had taken a similar stance with the Spaniard.
However, he is left with no choice but to axe the former Sevilla boss as the Irons sit 14th in the Premier League after 20 games. Only seven points separate them from the relegation zone.
