Graham Potter transfer kitty revealed as West Ham line up two signings

West Ham United have promised Graham Potter that he will have money to spend on new signings during this window, according to The Times.

The newspaper reported via their website on 6 January that the Irons are looking to sign a new forward and an “energetic” midfielder this month, although they are likely to prioritise loan deals due to budget constraints.

This comes after it emerged that the Hammers have offered their head coach role to Potter until the end of the season after deciding to sack Julen Lopetegui.

Graham Potter to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham

David Sullivan has been reluctant to sack Lopetegui, but it appears the 4-1 loss against Manchester City on Saturday (4 January) was the final nail in the coffin for the Spaniard.

The Times report that the Hammers have put reservations regarding Potter aside, thus explaining why they have opted to offer him the job until the end of the season for the time being.

However, they do not want to make him feel like a stop-gap solution either, evidenced by their promise to allow him to make his own signings this window.

West Ham have been credited with an interest in signing Evan Ferguson on loan, but Brighton are not expected to make a decision regarding the Irishman until the end of the window.

Meanwhile, internal discussions over signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on a temporary deal from Chelsea are also ongoing [Sky Sports].

The East London outfit spent over £100million on new signings in the summer transfer window and are, therefore, low on money this summer.

That is why they are looking at possible loan deals.

In other West Ham news, a loan move is on the cards for this Irons star amid a new transfer update from Italy.
