Graham Potter answer emerges as West Ham consider Lopetegui sack
Darren Bent believes Graham Potter would be an ideal candidate to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United.
The former Chelsea manager has been mooted as an option to take the reins at the London Stadium if the Spanish tactician is sacked after the Irons’ 3-1 loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday [3 December].
Bent is of the view that the East London outfit have the squad to play an attractive brand of football and tipped Potter as the “answer” for them.
“When you look at [Crysencio] Summerville and [Lucas] Paqueta and [Mohammed] Kudus… [Jarrod] Bowen, these guys want to play football”, the pundit said on talkSPORT [4 December, 4:44 pm].
“They don’t want to be compact and defensive, and hitting teams on the counter-attack, they want to go out and play the football because I think they’ve got the players in their squad.
“So, I do think Graham Potter [would be a good fit]. I know it’s almost like he’s become more popular as long he’s been out of work, it’s almost like he’s the answer to every club that needs a manager, but I’m a big fan of his.
“I know he had a tough time at Chelsea, but I think he’ll be better for it, having that time at Chelsea.”
Graham Potter answer emerges as West Ham consider Lopetegui sack
The Hammers sit just six points above the relegation zone after 14 games, putting Lopetegui under increasing pressure at the London Stadium.
He has lost support from some West Ham board members, according to Dharmesh Sheth, and, therefore, faces a serious risk of being fired in the coming days.

The Times, though, reported via their website on 4 December that Potter would be interested in managing West Ham if the job is offered to him.
It now remains to be seen if the Irons decide to pull the plug on Lopetegui and bring in someone like Potter to take them forward.
