Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent were able to enjoy some fun at a West Ham United fan's expense on Tuesday regarding Frank Lampard.

The duo were phoned live in the talkSPORT studio by the supporter [19 November, 15:24] after discussing Lampard's potential of becoming the new Coventry City manager.

The fan was less than complimentary about Julen Lopetegui but admitted he would rather have the Spaniard at the helm than former Hammer Lampard.

Bent raised the question: "Who would you rather have, Lopetegui or Lampard?", which was reinforced by Goldstein.

The fan responded: "I'm not having Lampard."

Goldstein said: "So you want to keep Lopetegui," to which the supporter reluctantly agreed.

Bent added: "Say you want to keep Lopetegui," as Goldstein joked: "Say, 'Julen Lopetegui is the man for me'."

The duo then went into hysterics as the fan said: "I don't have to say anything I don't want to say."

West Ham United struggling with Julen Lopetegui

West Ham are down in the dumps this season, sitting in an unremarkable position of 14th and struggling for any kind of consistency.

The proposed Lampard to Coventry move, however, is likely one which demonstrates that it could be worse, with his stock as a manager having suffered with uninspiring spells at Chelsea and Everton.

Hammers fans are underwhelmed following a huge sense of summer excitement, with the money spent by David Sullivan under the recruitment drive of Tim Steidten.

Lopetegui has on several occasions opted for the longer-serving players and at times shunned new signings, while injuries and suspensions have also taken a toll.

The Spaniard still has time to turn his Irons tenure around, but calls for the axe will amplify if there is no improvement by Christmas.
