Gianluca Scamacca currently has ‘no interest’ in West Ham United move

Gianluca Scamacca currently has “no intentions” of joining West Ham United as the Hammers table a bid for the Italy international according to Get French Football News.

Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on his personal website (12 July) that the Hammers have bid £33.7million for the 23-year-old.

However, it has been suggested by GFFN on Tuesday 12 July that Scamacca has “no interest” in joining West Ham having already agreed personal terms with PSG.

Things can change

West Ham’s interest in Scamacca has always been a distant one up until the reported bid for the striker.

The Sassuolo striker has always been heavily linked with PSG as that looked like the only viable option for the forward who has scored 16-goals in Serie A in the 2021/22 season.

He was clearly set on a move to Paris and the West Ham interest could come as a bit of a surprise.

Scamacca would be foolish not consider a move to the London Stadium after West Ham’s excellent campaign last season.

If he moved to the French giants then there is a good chance that he wouldn’t feature regularly.

Scamacca would be a mainstay in West Ham’s starting eleven and would finally give David Moyes a good level of competition up front which he has desperately needed.

This transfer saga feels as if it could rumble on for quite some time whilst the Italy striker decided where he wants to play his football in the 2022/23 campaign.

Regardless, it is good to see the club hierarchy really push for an ambitous signing.
