Ghana fans blast Mohammed Kudus live on TV as West Ham United ace in shock result
Mohammed Kudus’ poor performance in the 0-0 stalemate between Ghana and Sudan has angered some Black Stars fans with one even left questioning how the West Ham United ace missed his golden opportunity in the second half.
The Hammers ace was wearing his country’s captain’s armband for the first time against Sudan in their AFCON qualifiers on 10 October and failed to put in a good performance.
Kudus had four shots throughout the clash with his questionable miss in the second half being the only one off-target [Fotmob].
Speaking to 3 Sports Ghana (10 October) fans shared their frustrations over Kudus’ performance.
“The players we are disappointed with are Mohammed Kudus,” one fan said.
“You just imagine, here is the ball and this is the line, just tap it but then he just played the ball to their keeper, how?”
Another fan then gave their opinion and said: “Looking at the calibre of players we have with them all playing in their foreign teams, we see Kudus scoring two goals, Semenyo scoring three goals and an assist, but they come here with no passion.”
West Ham United ace Mohammed Kudus needs to buck his ideas up
Kudus’ statistics from the game may show that he put in a fairly decent shift but after he got that sort of a reaction from Black Stars fans, it’s evident that he isn’t living up to the form he showed last season.
His bust-up with Julen Lopetegui [The Athletic, 2 October] which came at the 45-minute mark of their 1-1 draw with Brentford on 28 September should have been a sign that the attacker needs to try harder.
Kudus’ form last season was nothing short of spectacular and, alongside Jarrod Bowen, the duo managed to carry David Moyes’ men to a ninth-placed Premier League finish.
However, they currently sit 12th in the table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
While this may not seem like the worst effort from Lopetegui’s men, after their summer transfer window saw players such as Crysencio Summerville and Max Kilman come through the London Stadium doors, much more was expected of them.
Kudus’ poor form has left the Hammers in a bit of a pickle and it feels as if they’ve been left with a minimal amount of attacking options which could be a reason behind their poor form.
