Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher in agreement on Brentford v West Ham United prediction

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have both predicted a 2-2 draw between West Ham United and Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday (28 September).

The Hammers have won just one of their five Premier League matches so far, leaving them in fourteenth place, and come into the clash off the back of a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup.

History would suggest plenty of goals are set to be scored at the Gtech Community Stadium, with 3-2 and 4-2 thrillers last season, and it seems as though the Sky Sports pundit duo had the same thoughts.

Speaking via The Overlap on Thursday (26 September), Neville said: “We’re going 2-2,” which Carragher quickly echoed.

This came after Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Jill Scott locked in their answer of a 1-1 draw.

West Ham United to play out exciting draw v Brentford?

Recent history would certainly suggest the clash against the Bees will promise goals at both ends of the pitch, especially due to both teams’ forms so far this season.

Thomas Frank’s side have just two more points than the Hammers so far, claiming victories against Crystal Palace and Southampton but failing to hold onto surprise 1-0 leads against Manchester City and Tottenham.

Lopetegui is already coming under mountains of pressure, currently without a league win since the 2-0 win over the Eagles at the end of August, so something must change against the Bees.

The Irons have conceded eight goals in their last two games in all competitions, losing 3-0 to Chelsea before the 5-1 thrashing by Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday (25 September).

A trip to the Gtech Community Stadium marks a chance for Lopetegui to prove himself in the Premier League and in front of the travelling away support, and hopefully put some points on the board.
