Garth Crooks makes ‘questionable’ admission after controversial incident in West Ham United draw v Newcastle
Garth Crooks has made an admission about a controversial incident that took place in the West Ham game against Newcastle United on Sunday (8 October).
Writing on the BBC Sport website, the pundit said it was “questionable” whether Bruno Guimaraes should have been sent off for a foul on James Ward-Prowse after already picking up a yellow card in the game.
He added that the Brazilian midfielder “survived”, with the two sides sharing the points after playing out a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.

“It was questionable whether Bruno Guimaraes should have been on the pitch after receiving an earlier yellow card but he survived and so did Newcastle,” said Crooks.
Blatant
It’s getting pretty ridiculous now how many clear errors the Premier League officials are making on what seems to be a weekly basis.
While Peter Bankes was pretty inconsistent throughout the afternoon, his decision to not award Guimaraes a second yellow card was absolutely shocking.
There could have been no argument from the midfielder or anyone associated with Newcastle if he had been sent off as it was as blatant as they come.

The Hammers were also ahead at that point, so there is a very good chance that we would have gone on to win the game if the Magpies had gone down to 10 men.
But that didn’t happen and it’s another instance where a poor piece of officiating has potentially had a huge impact on the result of a game.
