Gabriel Agbonlahor shares ban verdict on West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta live on talkSPORT
Gabriel Agbonlahor doesn’t think it’s looking good for Lucas Paqueta after he was accused by the FA of spot-fixing.
Paqueta has been charged by the FA with four separate instances of spot-fixing, which could see the 26-year-old midfielder banned for life.
The West Ham ace denies the charges against him, but Agbonlahor believes the Brazillian could be in serious trouble.
While speaking live on talkSPORT (6:25 am, 24 May), the ex-Aston Villa striker said, “I saw one of the bookings and thought, did he need to do that?
“They’re clever the FA, they’ll be looking at it so many times. It is not looking good, is it?
“How long has it been? It has been close to a year, hasn’t it?
“If it has taken this long and it is only coming out now, it doesn’t look good for him at all.”
Lucas Paqueta and West Ham United are in serious trouble
What a start to life at the London Stadium for Julen Lopetegui.
Just as he has walked through the door in East London, he could lose arguably the best player at the club.
This is arguably one of the most serious betting allegations in the history of English football.
If Paqueta is found guilty, then West Ham will be fuming.
Not only will they lose such an influential player, but any chance of a transfer would also be ruled out.
That means that while Paqueta won’t be playing for them, the Hammers also won’t have received any money for a player who is such a valuable asset to the club.

This is completely unprecedented, and it would open up a can of worms about how the club go about dealing with his salary and contract.
For now, West Ham and Paqueta must keep their fingers crossed and hope he isn’t found guilty.
In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen could be ready to quit the club after a new development at the London Stadium.
