Gabby Agbonlahor questions West Ham fans live on air after Arsenal incident
Gabby Agbonlahor has questioned the support of West Ham fans after a mass walkout during the 6-0 loss to Arsenal on Sunday 11 February.
The Hammers were condemned to their seventh consecutive match without a victory in all competitions, conceding four goals or more for the fourth time this season.
David Moyes has been under heavy fire in recent weeks, with West Ham continuing to slip down the Premier League table. However, Agbonlahor was still not a fan of the London Stadium exit from the fans on Sunday.
Speaking via talkSPORT on Thursday (15 February, 9:54am), he said: “Why were they all leaving though? Are they only there for the glory?
“When you see all the fans leaving like that… There’s still another half to play! I just think, having won a trophy last season and what they have done over the last few seasons, the West Ham fans shouldn’t have left.”
Only so much West Ham fans can take
To suggest that Hammers fans are only going to games for the glory, and quitting when times get hard, is extremely out-of-touch.
West Ham have conceded a total of 10 goals in their last three matches, drawing to Bournemouth before two embarrassing losses to Manchester United and Arsenal.
This will not be the worst results that fans have witnessed in their decades of supporting the club, but with more and more concerns being raised over Moyes’ style of football, it is in the manner of the losses that has caused the most frustration.
Since their last win in December, a 2-0 result against the Gunners at Emirates Stadium, West Ham have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship outlet Bristol City, failed to win against Sheffield United, and were embarrassed at home.

With no signs of changes at the club, it is understandable why some fans feel they have better things to do than watch their team ship another six goals, although the likelihood is that those same fans are at the next game, ready to support.
Football is a very emotional sport, with causing reactionary moments like the walkout at London Stadium. It is extremely tough to support your team when most of the players already look beaten by half-time.
In other West Ham news, an agreed London Stadium departure has now collapsed.
