Gabby Agbonlahor predicts West Ham United thrashing v Manchester City as ‘Dubai’ reason mooted
Gabby Agbonlahor has shared his prediction ahead of the final day of the Premier League season as West Ham United travel to Manchester City on Sunday (19 May).
The away match at the Etihad Stadium will mark David Moyes’ final act as Hammers manager, with Julen Lopetegui set to replace him ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
While the Irons have little to play for anymore, Pep Guardiola’s Man City side are in search of their record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title and will secure it with a victory.
Sharing his prediction via talkSPORT on Thursday (16 May), Agbonlahor said: “West Ham… The manager is leaving, the last game of the season, some players with 9pm flights to Dubai, don’t want to get injured and have to cancel their flights.
“Manchester City are fighting for the title. Win at any cost and you win the title. This could be five or six to nil, I really think it will. Players will want to get in on the party mood – Alvarez, Haaland, De Bruyne, Foden.
“I’m going for Man City 5-0 West Ham.”
Ugly afternoon mooted for West Ham United v Manchester City
Few fans will be expecting anything other than a West Ham loss, though Arsenal will be hoping for a minor miracle in Manchester as they look to pip the current champions to the league title.
Though West Ham have recorded three draws against Man City in their last 16 league meetings, you must go back to September 2015 to see a Hammers victory, when Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho outscored Kevin De Bruyne for all three points.
It is difficult to see anything other than a home victory for Man City, who have not lost a single Premier League match since December – a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

A header from James Ward-Prowse did actually see the Hammers open the scoring in the reverse fixture earlier this season. This was before Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland scored to secure a 3-1 comeback win.
Of course, Moyes would love to end his tenure with a win over the current Premier League and Champions League holders, though Agbonlahor could very much be right with his prediction.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has urged Julen Lopetegui to sell five Hammers players, with a Kurt Zouma exit on the cards.
