Fulham to enter race for West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola
Fulham are reportedly looking to enter the race for West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola if they secure promotion.
According to Football League World, their pursuit hinges on whether or not the Hammers exercise the option to buy him at the end of the season.
The Frenchman has made just one Premier League appearance for David Moyes’ side but has impressed in the Europa League.

Should he stay?
The jury is out on Areola and it remains to be seen whether or not he would want to stay himself.
This season he has played second fiddle to Lukasz Fabianski and may not want to do that for another year.
That means that if Fulham get promoted and are willing to offer him game time, he could jump ship.
He has experience of playing there and has friends in the dressing room so it will not be too drastic a change.

However, David Moyes knows that he must build this team for the future and Fabianski is on his last legs.
Areola could be the keeper for the better part of the next decade and unless the club are lining up someone who they deem better than him, the sensible thing to do is retain Areola and hand him the number one next season.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have scouted a £20m-rated ‘Dangerous’ British striker and want to seal a move this summer.
