Fulham looking to sign West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku in the upcoming window
West Ham could lose Arthur Masuaku in the summer transfer window, with Fulham reportedly after the Frenchman’s signature.
That’s according to the Daily Mail (April 17th), who claim the Cottagers are already eyeing up six recruits to bolster their squad upon their Premier League return, which could be confirmed as soon as Tuesday night with a victory against Preston.
The Mail claims Marco Silva knows the 28-year-old well from his time with Olympiakos in Greece, when the full-back made 33 appearances in all competitions as he won the league title under the Portuguese in 2015-16.

Masuaku has only managed 12 Premier League outings this season and has fallen down David Moyes’ pecking order behind Aaron Cresswell and academy graduate Ben Johnson.
Seems Inevitable
With West Ham’s meteoric rise in recent times, it was always going to be likely that some fringe players wouldn’t be able to make the step up.
That certainly seems the case with Masuaku, usually a reliable backup to clear first choice Cresswell but now really struggling for game time after Johnson’s continuing development.
He has been a reliable servant to the club since joining in 2016 but it now seems like an amicable split is the best thing for both parties.

However with Cresswell also being touted for a move away and his contract expiring at the end of next season, you’d hope the club have some sort of contingency plan in place if they are planning on letting Masuaku go.
It might well be that West Ham are planning an ambitious move in the summer with some form of European competition being played at the London Stadium next season looking increasingly likely.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie believes this defender on the fringes should be given a new deal.
