
Frederik Alves to leave West Ham on loan to Sunderland
West Ham United are set to sanction the loan exit of defender Frederik Alves this week to join Sunderland.
ExWHUemployee has shared the “bizarre” news despite the Irons not yet bringing in another defender themselves.
Nikola Milenkovic has been strongly linked with the London Stadium, but no announcement appears to be imminent.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon, Ex shared the latest update that may leave Irons fans fuming with the state of play.
“In an even more bizarre twist of events with the centre back situation,” he wrote.
“It appears that we are about to loan young Danish centre back Frederick Alves on a season loan spell to Sunderland leaving our squad even thinner.”

Are we really reading this right?
How can the Irons let another defender to leave the London Stadium, despite having made no progress with Milenkovic?
Unless this is the first hint that we have made big progress on the Serbian and the announcement is imminent, we don’t understand.
Alves isn’t set for a big role in the squad, but with doubts over the fitness of Angelo Ogbonna, he could have been on the bench against Newcastle on Sunday.
Craig Dawson and Issa Diop are our only senior central defenders in the squad, and it is looking extremely light right now.
Moyes can surely not be happy with what has happened this summer, no matter how much of a brave face he has been putting on.
