Frank McAvennie shares ‘strange’ David Moyes view amid Maxwel Cornet injury saga
Frank McAvennie believes “someone is pulling strings” when it comes to Maxwel Cornet’s injury layoff for West Ham United.
The Ivorian winger has had to travel to France to receive treatment for a long-standing calf injury, which has hampered his first season with the Irons.
McAvennie cannot understand why David Moyes doesn’t know more about the 26-year-old’s injury, with it currently unclear when he will return.

“I heard last week David Moyes saying he doesn’t know about the player and he doesn’t know when he’s coming back,” McAvennie exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“I am finding that hard to believe, whether it was just a comment from David or if he really doesn’t have anything to do with injured players.
“I don’t know because when I played the manager knew exactly what everyone’s fitness levels were. Moyes may have been trying to be sarcastic, I don’t know.
“If he was in France getting the treatment I would be in contact with him every two or three days so it’s a strange one for Moyes not to know anything about this, which makes me think someone is pulling strings down there.
“There’s something wrong. Because he’s a decent player.”

Moyes has been dealt another injury blow ahead of the Chelsea fixture with Thilo Kehrer now set to be out for three weeks. However, Gianluca Scamacca could feature after spending a spell on the sidelines during January.
Kurt Zouma will also be missing for Moyes’ men after picking up a thigh injury at the end on of last month.
