Fenerbahçe defender Attila Szalai in West Ham shortlist to replace Fulham-bound Issa Diop
Fenerbahçe defender Attila Szalai is one of the names on the West Ham United shortlist to replace centre-back Issa Diop, according to Daily Express reporter Ryan Taylor
The 25-year-old is set to leave the club with reports sharing that the Hammers have accepted a bid in the region of £15million from Fulham.
Taylor, in a tweet on Monday, stated that the Irons are interested in the Hungary international, who is expected to cost around a similar price to the windfall brought in for Diop.

West Ham had numerous problems going into the ongoing transfer market and one of them was strengthening the defensive line.
For this purpose, they have already signed Nayef Aguerd but he has been ruled out for the majority of the first half of the season after suffering an injury.
Therefore, it is now becoming imperative that the Hammers must make a move for a big strong centre-back and Szalai will be ideal in that regard.

The Hungary international has played 165 matches in senior club football where he has only received 28 yellow cards to go with a solitary red which shows that he is good with his positioning.
That’s not it as he is also a force to be reckoned with on set pieces as he has netted 12 times and provided seven assists in the process as well [Transfermarkt].
Therefore, it makes total sense that after letting a player like Diop leave, they must make a move and sing Szalai as quickly as possible.
He has been a Fenerbahce player since the summer of 2021 after joining from Apol. Limassol in a deal worth £1.98 million, with a healthy profit now likely.
