Fabrizio Romano: West Ham United make move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as ‘advanced’ update shares
West Ham United are in talks with Manchester United over a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka although nothing is “advanced” at this stage, according to Fabrizio Romano.
90min reported (21 December) that Crystal Palace are growing confident of signing the right back, with the 25-year-old currently out-of-favour at Old Trafford.
However, The Guardian journalist has since revealed (GIVEMESPORT, 21 December) that no “advanced” talks have taken place.

“There are three clubs interested. There has just been contact at the moment and there is nothing advanced, but it’s Crystal Palace, Wolves and West Ham,” said the Italian transfer guru.
“Let’s see who is going to make the right proposal to Manchester United.”
Not needed
At the moment, Wan-Bissaka is probably not a transfer priority for David Moyes with the Hammers currently having four players who can operate in the right back role. Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson have both filled in during the 2022/23 season, with Vladimir Coufal also being deployed by Moyes.
The Czech Republic international faces an uncertain future at the London Stadium despite the Hammers holding a two year option on his current deal. Harrison Ashby is Moyes’ younger alternative, but at present he looks set to depart after failing to agree a new deal.

If Ashby or Coufal do leave the club, then a move for Wan-Bissaka suddenly looks a lot more viable for the Hammers. The 25-year-old certainly fits the bill when it comes to the type of player Moyes likes.
He’s known for his tough tackling and defensive capabilities, which is something the West Ham boss could well be after. Wan-Bissaka’s next move is certainly something to keep an eye on.
