Fabrizio Romano stunned by Gianluca Scamacca exit talk at West Ham United as he reacts to speculation
Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that Gianluca Scamacca is happy at West Ham despite rumours linking him with Napoli.
Scamacca is barely months into his West Ham career after his summer move, but AreaNapoli report that Napoli are already monitoring the young Italian over a potential Serie A return.
The 23-year-old hit the ground running in east London, but his form quickly tailed off as the Hammers continued to struggle in the Premier League.

However, Romano has rubbished the rumours of an Italy comeback for Scamacca, with the Hammers forward reportedly happy to stay put in London.
“I was surprised to see some speculation from Italy about Napoli being in for Gianluca Scamacca, who only joined West Ham in the summer,” said Romano.
“My understanding is that Scamacca is happy in London, he always wanted to try this Premier League experience and he’s determined to fight for his place at West Ham.
“Napoli will not change anything in January, so these rumours are not true as of today.”
Phew
Hammers fans will have been sweating reading about Scamacca’s future this week.

After years of only having one reliable striker in the squad, Scamacca’s arrival in the summer was one met with a lot of excitement.
So far, he’s failed to have the desired impact at the London Stadium, but that’s as much down to David Moyes’ usage of him as it is down to his ability.
He’s shown in the Europa Conference League that he can score when provided opportunities, but for one reason or another West Ham just can’t seem to get it right in the Premier League.
Regardless of whether it’s Michail Antonio or Scamacca leading the line West Ham just can’t seem to create the same quality chances they do in Europe. The Scot seems extremely hesitant to try two strikers up to too, leaving both Antonio and Scamacca fighting for their spot in the side.
Things will have to change after the winter break to help West Ham utilise their star striker in the best way possible, but at least fans don’t have to worry about losing him just months into his stay.
