West Ham have announced that Dan Rigge has signed a new deal at the club, as first revealed by the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

There were four Premier League sides and two in La Liga tracking the 17-year-old, but he's opted to stay put at the London Stadium.

He joined the Hammers last summer from Manchester City and even then there was a lot of interest in his services, per the Sun.

Romano wrote on Twitter, "Dan Rigge has signed new deal at West Ham, all completed. Confirmed."

"2006 born midfielder had interest from 4 Premier Lesgue clubs and 2 in La Liga but was focused on West Ham future.

Great news

Rigge was wanted by a host of Premier League clubs so it's evident that he's got a bright future in the game.

It was essential that the Hammers tied him down to a new deal and they finally announced the news which was a major coup.

He may have joined last season and has not played for his value to skyrocket but he's still going to be someone who clubs will have had their eyes on.

Now, if he does want to leave in a year or two, the Hammers can be protected in the market and demand a decent figure for his services.

There's also a good chance that David Moyes promotes him to the first team in the coming months as he's certainly got the potential.

West Ham have lost some of their youngsters recently so they cannot afford to do the same thing with him.
