Fabrizio Romano shares documents and sell-on clause update as West Ham United ace Gianluca Scamacca set to join Atalanta
Documents are being prepared as West Ham are set to sell Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Sky Sports Italy journalist reported on Saturday (5 August) that there’s a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal as well.
The 24-year-old Italy international will travel later today with his medical booked in his home country as he’s set to seal his return.
Romano wrote on Twitter, “Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta, here we go! Documents being prepared as West Ham will sell the Italian striker. €25m fixed fee, €5m easy add ons. 10% sell on clause also included. Medical tests booked in Italy. Player travelling later today. Done, sealed.”
Quick
Atalanta have got this deal over the line way too quickly and it’s certainly a surprise given how long this Scamacca saga has dragged on.
Inter Milan and Roma have been linked with the Italian for so long but failed to get anything done in good time.
However, with Atalanta, their links emerged only a few days ago and they’ve managed to successfully hijack their Serie A rivals.

While West Ham are making a loss on him, it’s still not the worst deal in the world and the add-ons do seem to be easily attainable.
Hopefully, they do not mess up their search for a replacement and he needs to be someone who fits the bill perfectly for the club.
Scamacca appeared to tick all the boxes but David Moyes never saw the striker he thought he was signing a season ago.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
