Fabrizio Romano names top West Ham United transfer target in January
Ajax attacker Steven Bergwijn is one of the new “top targets” for West Ham United in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist has reported that the Hammers have the Dutch winger on their list this month in case they can find the budget to complete deals.
It is shared that the Irons will need to sell players first, with other Premier League and Saudi clubs also interested in signing Bergwijn before the end of the month.
He wrote on X: “Understand Steven Bergwijn is one of the top targets for West Ham in the January transfer window in case they will be able to find budget after outgoings.
“More Premier League and Saudi clubs are also keen on Bergwijn as he could leave Ajax in case of good proposal.”

Point to prove.
After coming to England with Tottenham, Bergwijn went back to Ajax with a lot still to prove in the Premier League.
The Dutchman has struggled back in his homeland after a dreadful start to the season for his club, but things have started to turn around ahead of his potential exit.
With Premier League clubs and Saudi options on the table, it could be hard for the attacker to turn his head at that interest and the London Stadium may be at the top of that list.
Following Mohammed Kudus to east London could be a great motivation for Bergwijn, and Tim Steidten could well use that to try and push him towards the move.
With plenty of exits on the cards for the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Said Benrahma and Aaron Cresswell, money could soon become available for David Moyes to make moves.
This is one to watch over the next three weeks.
