Fabrizio Romano issues update on West Ham United ace Lucas Paqueta amid Manchester City links
Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Manchester City’s quest to secure the services of West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
The journalist, in his Daily Briefing on 11 November, wrote that while City appreciate the Brazilian, currently, they’re not in active talks with him.
The Citizens are also unlikely to spend big money in the January transfer window.

Romano said, “I’ve no information on the betting issue honestly, it’s not my job. but Man City have always appreciated Paquetá.
“The deal in August was very advanced, then it collapsed, but technically Man City still appreciate and rate Paquetá as a great player.
“At the moment there are no active talks ongoing, City are happy with the squad they have and I’m not sure they will spend big money in January.”
He stays
It’s very unlike Manchester City to fail in their pursuit of a player in one window and then chase him again in the following window.
They’ve got second, third and fourth options for every target and usually, end up getting their man.
They did buy Matheus Nunes from Wolves after failing to land Paqueta and have seen Rico Lewis also emerge as an option in central midfield and Bernardo Silva have arguably the best season of his City career.

While Paqueta would be open to joining the Citizens, there might not be any place at the club anymore for him which is good news for West Ham.
To his credit, despite not getting the move that he wanted, he still remained committed to the cause and that’s an impressive thing.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Hammers look to tie him down to a new contract to end all talks about his future.
