Fabrizio Romano: Agent of West Ham-linked Darwin Nunez set to meet top clubs
Benfica striker Darwin Nunez’s agent is reportedly set to meet with top clubs ahead of a potential summer move, amid West Ham links.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the £66m-rated striker is set to leave in the summer as many top clubs are circling around him.
The Hammers attempted to sign him in January, but failed to get him over the line.
Via his personal Twitter account, the Sky Sports journalist wrote, “Darwin Nunez will leave Benfica in the summer, fee around €80m. His new agent will now meet with many top clubs to explore opportunities. 🇺🇾 #transfers
“Man United already discussed his name internally – Arsenal wanted him last January as West Ham but Darwin was not for sale.”
London bound?
It seems that the Hammers lost their chance to get the striker over the line when they did not sign him in January.
Back then, no big clubs really seemed keen on securing the 22-year-old’s services.
However, it seems that most top Champions League sides that are looking for a striker are keeping an eye on him.

Manchester United and Arsenal may not be in Europe’s elite club competition but still have the muscle to lure him away.
PSG and Liverpool have also been linked with the Uruguayan striker and it seems improbable that West Ham could land him ahead of these sides.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have scouted a £20m-rated ‘Dangerous’ British striker and want to seal a permanent move this summer.
