ExWHUemployee: West Ham United want Conor Gallagher but also eye alternatives from Chelsea

West Ham United will try again for Conor Gallagher but also have an alternative option from Chelsea lined up according to ExWHUemployee.

The Sun reported on Tuesday 23 August that West Ham are plotting a daring move for the 22-year-old midfielder, with Crystal Palace also keen on to bring Gallagher back to Selhurst Park.

However, ExWHUemployee reported on his Patreon page on Wednesday 24 August, that if West Ham cannot land Gallagher, they will target an alternative midfield option from the West London club.

Who could it be?

There are a number of players on Chelsea’s books that could well be viewed as an alternative to Gallagher.

One of the obvious candidates is Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with the 26-year-old currently operating in a wing-back role for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Loftus-Cheek is far better utilised in a central midfield position and could well be someone David Moyes looks to bring to the London Stadium.

He could well be inclined to move to the London Stadium with there being the potential for the 26-year-old to get regular game time in central midfield for Moyes’ side.

Another player is Ross Barkley, with Chelsea keen to move the 28-year-old on this summer.

He wouldn’t be the most progressive signing for Moyes to make with the former Everton man featuring sporadically for Chelsea in recent years.

Finally, Billy Gilmour is another midfielder that could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, but whether he can be classed as an alternative to Gallagher is certainly up for debate.

Loftus-Cheek would seem the most likely alternative.
