ExWHUemployee: West Ham United to include bonuses and clauses in new mega Lucas Paqueta bid

West Ham United are readying yet another mega bid to sign Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta this week, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable source has shared that the Irons will launch a new bid that includes bonuses, as well as new clauses with the club hopeful of getting it done.

Lyon have already rejected one bid that was said to be worth up to £34million, with the asking price significantly higher – although not enough to put off David Moyes.

Writing on the official West Ham Way Patreon page on Thursday [25 August], Ex shared what to expect next from the Hammers in the coming days.

“We can confirm that our original offer for Paqueta has been turned down but the club will go back in with an improved offer with the use of bonuses and clauses,” he wrote.

“The club are hopeful that this deal will get done. Moyes has also confirmed that he is in talks with other players which we believe we have named previously.”

Money set to fly.

David Gold and Sullivan are certainly not messing around with this one.

With the help of Daniel Kretinsky and Karren Brady, Moyes has been heavily backed compared to usual windows at the London Stadium, with more still to come.

Club Brugge playmaker Hans Vanaken was targeted and the asking price was much lower, but it looks as though the Irons would rather spend more on someone such as Paqueta, who can make much more of a difference for longer.

West Ham United will be hoping that if the Brazilian does arrive, he can have the same impact that Bruno Guimaeres has had at Newcastle over recent months.

After three defeats in as many games in the Premier League, it is vital that we start putting our foot on the gas soon before being left behind – it doesn’t take long.
