ExWHUemployee: West Ham United likely to play Jarrod Bowen as number 9 v Kidderminster

West Ham United are likely to play Jarrod Bowen as the number nine in the FA Cup clash with Kidderminster on Saturday.

That’s according to ExWHUemployee, who reports that changes are likely with Michail Antonio playing for Jamaica on Thursday.

David Moyes is said to be happy with having Bowen as his striker back-up, with Andriy Yarmolenko and Sonny Perkins as other options.

“Moyes has confirmed he is happy to go with Bowen as the backup to Antonio (This is likely to be the case in the FA Cup with Antonio playing on Thursday evening for Jamaica),” he wrote.

“He will then use Yarmolenko and Perkins as other forward options.”

Smart?

It is the right decision to go strong and play Bowen against Kidderminster, with no humiliating defeat needed at this stage.

That would bring even more questions about our January failings, especially after making zero signings through the month.

Moyes has defended the board regarding last month, but that has done nothing to change anyone’s minds that it was a shocking window.

We are all still hugely disappointed, and can’t believe that this opportunity was taken more seriously by the board.

The money was clearly available, but silly bids were made and it proved that no real strategy to bring in a new forward was formed, and we ran out of time because of that.

We have everything crossed this doesn’t backfire, but at least we know that Bowen, who is in the form of his life this season, will likely have enough to dominate on Saturday.
