ExWHUemployee: West Ham United appoint Mark Phillips as new Mark Noble assistant
West Ham have appointed Mark Phillips as the new assistant to sporting director Mark Noble, according to ExWHUemployee.
Phillips makes the step up to the position alongside club legend Noble from his role as the club’s Under-18s assistant manager.
Ex noted that Phillips, a boyhood Hammers fan, was instrumental in the development of many players, including outgoing captain Declan Rice.

“We can confirm that popular Under-18s assistant manager Mark Phillips will be changing roles from the new season,” Ex wrote on Patreon.
“The big West Ham fan who was instrumental in the development of Declan Rice and many other players will be supporting Mark Noble as his assistant.
“While the specifics of the role are not entirely determined yet, it is thought that Phillips’s experience and passion for the club could be very beneficial across the academy.”

Exciting times
It really is an exciting time to be a West Ham supporter, with the club taking positive steps both on and off the pitch in recent times.
After their flirtation with relegation from the Premier League last season, the East London outfit secured a monumental European trophy, with the club clinching a spot in the Europa League with that Europa Conference League success.
This latest appointment shows that the Hammers know how to look after their own, with both Noble and Phillips clearly passionate about the club, with both rewarded for that passion.
The hard work, however, starts now, with a huge season coming up for David Moyes and his players as they look to really push on.
Losing Rice is, of course, a massive blow to their ambitions domestically and in Europe, but stability should come with new arrivals, namely in defensive midfield but also in various other areas.
In other West Ham news, one club chief is losing patience in a deal for a Hammers player who is their first-choice signing.
