West Ham are reportedly continuing talks with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as they’re eyeing a major summer swoop.
According to ExWHUemployee, the Hammers’ “main priority” is to sign the Englishman on loan.
However, the advances made by the Irons have been turned down by the Blues a number of times as they’re proving increasingly difficult to deal with in this window.
Ex wrote, “Talks will also continue with Chelsea. The main priority is to try and get Conor Gallagher on loan although these advances have been rejected a number of times.
“There are a number of other players at our West London rivals who have been told can leave and I think we would be interested in any form in Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, possibly Barkley (wage dependent), Broja and probably one or two others.
“Chelsea, however, have been very difficult to deal with this window so it makes them unlikely but might we worth keeping an eye on.”
Continue the pursuit
Gallagher’s last two spells on loan in the Premier League at West Brom and Crystal Palace prove that he is the real deal.
He’s one of the most talented young English midfielders and is only seeming to get better with each passing year.
Not only is he influential in the middle of the park, he can also drive forward with the ball and make things happen in the final third.
Much like Declan Rice, Gallagher is versatile to play in a number of different positions and he will work well with the Hammers captain.
If Gallagher is to make an attempt to make the World Cup squad, he will need to play regularly and that’s not going to happen at Chelsea while it certainly can happen at the London Stadium.
The Blues have already been in talks over Armando Broja with West Ham and they are engaging once again for Gallagher.
