ExWHUemployee: West Ham likely to seal deal to sign Manchester City sensation Carlos Borges this week
West Ham are likely to complete the signing of Manchester City sensation Carlos Borges this week, according to ExWHUemployee.
The reliable Hammers insider, in his podcast on Patreon [24 July], said that the Citizens rate the 19-year-old very highly and are putting a buyback clause in the deal.
That said, there is progress being made and if all goes well, the Hammers are likely to complete the £14million by this week.

Ex said at 2:30, “Manchester City want to include a buy-back clause. That just shows how highly they rate him. It’s worth £14million. The deal should be completed by this week. The deal is not completed but the club are hopeful it should be completed within this week.”
Get it done
Borges now appears to be prepared to move up to the first team, and his versatility means Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma, and Pablo Fornals will need to watch out as their places will be in jeopardy.
That said, nobody would have predicted that a Manchester City player who hadn’t made a professional appearance thus would be the Hammers’ first acquisition at the beginning of the transfer window.
Declan Rice’s replacement was the subject of much discussion, and even on the left wing, one might have anticipated a more seasoned player to walk through the door.

Borges appears to be different from the majority of David Moyes’ additions, which adds a certain degree of curiosity and given the outlay, it feels like he’s going to be a first-team player.
The 19-year-old has something exceptional about him that the average fan is unaware of if Moyes and the Hammers are willing to approve £14 million to sign him.
Brighton and Borussia Dortmund, two teams noted for signing outstanding young players, also were linked with him so there certainly is something special about him.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
