ExWHUemployee: West Ham approached strikers that were too expensive

West Ham have either approached strikers that were too expensive or something wasn’t good enough about them, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers have been in the hunt for a striker this summer, but thus far, have failed to get one over the line.

Since Sebastien Haller’s exit in January, David Moyes has had eyes on roping in a number nine, which has led to many names being thrown in the mix over the past few months.

When asked about the club’s transfer policy after Tammy Abraham’s failed pursuit, ExWHUemployee replied, via his personal Twitter account, “Because everyone that they went for was decided [to be] too expensive or something not quite right about them.”

We’ll never learn

It has been glaringly obvious for months that a striker is our priority but our board have continued to deal Moyes a bad deck of cards and then will come calling for his head when things don’t go well on the field of play.

They’ve had several weeks to narrow in on his preferred targets and if certain ones were unassailable, then move on to the next one and eventually get our man.

Abraham never seemed like he was within our price range, but we still spent so much time behind him and there’s no credible alternative that appears to be lined up, at least in terms of what’s been put out in the media.

West Ham

We’re done with all our pre-season games and we’re set to begin the new season with Michail Antonio leading the line – something we dreaded would happen back in May.

Time and again, GSB have let the fans, players and managers down and nothing really seems to change.

Even after a season in the top six, they’re continuing with their same old ways.
