ExWHUemployee shares Nayef Aguerd injury update ahead of West Ham clash v Tottenham
West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd could be fit to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend as the injury picked up against Chelsea “is not as bad as first feared,” according to ExWHUemployee.
The defender was forced off against the Blues ten minutes from time with what appeared to be a groin injury, and according to Claret & Hugh [14 February], he was expected to be out for a number of weeks.
However, according to the latest developments, the Moroccan international could be fit to face Spurs this weekend.

According to Ex, reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon [16 February] provided some positive news for the Hammers faithful claiming that Aguerd’s injury scan showed “very little damage”.
He said: “Aguerd is not as bad as first feared,
“The scan showed little damage. It is even hoped that he could even be fit for Spurs.”
Huge relief
Aguerd’s injury update certainly comes as a huge relief to David Moyes and the West Ham fans, considering his pivotal importance to Moyes’ tactical setup and the tremendous run of form he’s shown in recent weeks.
West Ham have suffered a great deal from injuries to key players this season, especially those in defence with the likes of Angelo Ogbonna, and Kurt Zouma along with Aguerd spending considerable time on the treatment which has somewhat led to the club’s so far disappointing campaign in the Premier League.

In recent weeks, the Moroccan defender has formed a formidable defensive trio with Ogbonna and Kehrer in Moyes’ settled three-man defence and the Hammers boss will be searching for consistency in personnel in the coming weeks as the club aims to steer clear from a needless relegation battle.
Aguerd will be extremely pivotal to those hopes, and the news that he could feature against Spurs on Sunday is a huge boost for the Hammers as they look to claim an unlikely scalp against their inconsistent London rivals.
