ExWHUemployee shares latest West Ham United news on David Moyes’ future

The West Ham United board “desperately wish” for David Moyes to remain as manager until the end of season and potentially beyond, according to ExWHUemployee.

Currently embroiled in a relegation dogfight in the Premier League, the East Londoners’ poor form this season has seen Moyes’ future as manager called into question by fans and pundits, with the Hammers officials choosing to stick by him.

And the reliable source reports that because there are no suitable replacements at present, the Hammers board wish to stick with Moyes for the foreseeable, depending on their league position and potential success in Europe.

“I’m not sure anyone however, even David Sullivan, is accurately able to predict what will happen beyond Southampton at this point,” stated Ex as quoted by The West Ham Way [30 March]

”The board ‘back’ David Moyes and desperately wish him to remain as manager certainly until the end of the season and potentially beyond depending on the final league position and the success of the Conference League. They believe that there are no 100 per cent suitable replacements out there, at this time.

”They are of course concerned about performances which have been described to me as ‘not good enough’ for a while now.

”The manager and the coaching staff are fully aware that they are under pressure. Especially if we were to lose the game against Southampton, they would be stupid to think otherwise regardless of what may have been said to them. If it is the nature of the Brighton performance then I would imagine he would 100 per cent be in danger of losing his post. I would even go as far as to suggest a loss could potentially be the end although of course, this is a scenario everyone wants to avoid.”

Fans want change

This could very well turn out to be a worrying update for the Hammers faithful, considering the stark decline they have seen their club go through this season, despite spending a whopping £165m last summer, [The Athletic, 1 September].

The East Londoners have been dreadful this season, which is made all the more disappointing considering the amount of quality they possess and that has arguably been down to Moyes’ stubborn management and tactics which have somewhat held his talented stars back.

For that reason, the club fans will desperately want change, given the club have been linked with some promising names in recent weeks to replace Moyes, namely, Stade de Reims manager Will Still and former player Michael Carrick from Middlesbrough. That’s two clear, suitable and exciting candidates for the board to consider.

Both of those candidates are progressive and tactically astute managers who could potentially lead the club forward and the idea that the club board plan to stick with Moyes depending on what happens this season is seriously baffling.

It is clear West Ham United need change if they are to challenge the English elite once again. Moyes has taken the club as far as he can.
