ExWHUemployee shares latest update on West Ham United-Dan-Axel Zagadou link

West Ham may not be interested in Dan-Axel Zagadou, contrary to reports, as per ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers source wrote on his Patreon (13 September) that sources have confirmed him that they are not aware of the transfer rumour.

RMC Sport journalist Hawkins reported on Twitter (13 September) that David Moyes scouring the free transfer market for a new defender, and the Hammers are leading the race to sign Zagadou.

Unlikely

The Hammers have bolstered their defence this summer, and chances are high that they won’t be involved in transfer activities before January.

Zagadou is a free agent, and the Hammers can sign him now. However, Ex suggests that the reports of four-year deal being offered to him are wide of the mark.

David Moyes has got Kurt Zouma, Thilo Kehrer, Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson with him, while Nayef Aguerd will hopefully return before the World Cup break. Signing a defender isn’t a priority right now.

Zagadou, 23, has been linked with a move to Lyon as well.

West Ham, however, do need to add new faces at the back next summer. Ogbonna is certain to leave as a free agent, while Dawson is apparently unhappy at the club.

Dawson was looking for a move away this summer, in order to stay close to his family, but any potential deadline-day departure didn’t happen for him. Moyes rightly has kept him as he needs depth in the squad.
