ExWHUemployee shares injury update on West Ham duo Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson v Liverpool

West Ham duo Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson are reportedly in contention to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

According to ExWHUemployee, they will face late fitness tests before kick off as both seem to have recovered right in time for the game.

Nayef Aguerd has also shown signs of recovery but will not be available for the game against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Ex wrote, “The news is slightly more positive with Kurt Zouma, who trained yesterday, and will be given to the very last minute to prove he has recovered enough from the virus that has made him miss two games.

“Craig Dawson suffered a dead leg and is close to returning to full fitness, so like his French centre back partner, he will be given a fitness test to see if he can feature at all.

“Nayef Aguerd is back in light ball training with Moyes confirming that he will be back before the World Cup break but this game will sadly come too soon to feature in.”

Welcome news

The Hammers have been facing something of a defensive crisis of late and many feared the worst when three first-team centre-backs were likely out.

Aguerd has not played this season so it wasn’t much of a worry, but Dawson and Zouma’s absence would certainly have not gone down well with David Moyes.

It turns out both of them are in contention to play and we’re hoping that they can pass a late fitness test as Moyes certainly would want them in his eleven.

There’s no denying that West Ham’s chances of winning go up considerably with Zouma playing and the same can be said about Dawson.

They bring a calm presence on and off the ball and give the rest of the players around them the confidence to go out and express themselves.

We cannot wait for the action to unfold and hopefully, West Ham can get the job done or at least pick up a point against tricky opposition.
