ExWHUemployee shares Fulham response as West Ham United make second Joao Palhinha bid
West Ham have tabled their second bid for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha which is understood to be worth £50million, per ExWHUemployee.
The reliable Hammers insider, via his Patreon [22 July] claims that the Cottagers have turned down that offer as well.
They turned down the first one, via the Guardian, and West Ham are now not likely to make another one for the Portugal international, 28.

Ex wrote, “We have heard that the club made a second bid of £50m for Fulham’s Palhinha which was rejected and we are unlikely to follow up this offer due to the West Londoner‘s demands with attention turning to the other defensive midfield targets that we have previously reported.”
Time to move on
Fulham think that they can play hard ball because of what West Ham got from Declan Rice’s sale to Arsenal.
However, what they aren’t considering is that the 24-year-old was one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe.
Palhinha, on the other hand, just has had one good season in the Premier League and is already four years older than Rice.

In addition to that, he’s also not as complete as the England international and someone like Edson Alvarez would be a better fit.
Having Palhinha and the Meixcan would not have hurt but Fulham are proving to be too difficult to deal with and West Ham now need to move on.
This bid shows that they’re willing to spend big and that’s only a good thing as this squad needs some massive reinforcements.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
