ExWHUemployee: Ham star Angelo Ogbonna is back in training, could make Newcastle United clash
West Ham star Angelo Ogbonna is back in training and has a chance of making the match against Newcastle United, according to a tweet from ExWHUemployee.
He claims that the 33-year-old is back in training and that the Irons are “hopeful” he will make the Premier League opener next weekend.
Ogbonna has not played for the Irons since he limped off during West Ham’s pre-season game against Celtic last month, but this is a positive update, and it suggests that he is nearly back.
Big boost for West Ham!
Ogbonna, despite being 33, is arguably the Irons’ best centre-back, and if he is available and able to take part in any of that Premier League opener against the Toon, then that would be a big boost for West Ham.
In the ten league games he missed last season, West Ham conceded 16 goals. He also earned the highest WhoScored average rating out of the centre-backs who are currently at the club.

So, you can clearly see how important Ogbonna is to the Hammers, and we just have to hope that he makes it through training this week and is in peak condition to play at St James’ Park.
However, if they aren’t convinced he is fully fit, we hope that they don’t risk him and wait until he is 100% ready.
We don’t want to see him suffer another injury!
However, this is a positive update from Ex, and it would be great to see Ogbonna back on the pitch.
