ExWHUemployee responds as Declan Rice fuels speculation over Chelsea move
West Ham United fans will be desperate to keep hold of Declan Rice this summer.
The England international has been the standout Hammer every single season since his breakthrough year, and that has resulted in serious speculation.
Chelsea have been reported as being interested for the past year, and speculation over that move to Stamford Bridge has failed to go away this summer.
Rice fuelled those rumours recently, posting a picture of himself and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba which sent social media into overdrive.
ExWHUemployee has taken to his personal Twitter account to shut those rumours down on Tuesday, hopefully calming east London.
“There has been no bid for Declan Rice as of yet,” he wrote.
“He is on holiday with his friends which also include West Ham players and he “bumped” into Drogba who was his hero as a kid. I’ll let you know when you need to worry”
The Sun reported recently that Chelsea could get Rice for £70million this summer, as the Irons may need to sell in order to buy.
Frank Lampard has already spent money on Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this year, and with should Kai Havertz join as well, there would be no chance of that sort of cash being thrown at Rice.
West Ham fans can relax with this latest update and know that if Chelsea were serious, they would have launched atleast an offer so far.
The youngster did start his career at the Blues, so it’s no surprise that Drogba is his hero and Irons fans should not look too much into things in the future.
