ExWHUEmployee: New West Ham kit will remind fans of Di Canio

One of the new West Ham kits will be released soon, claims ExWHUemployee.

The new season will commence in early August and some of West Ham’s players have already returned for pre-season training.

Usually, during this time of the year, teams announce their new kits for the upcoming season, and ExWHUemployee expects the Hammers to do the same soon.

On the Patreon page for the West Ham Way podcast, the reliable insider wrote, “One of the kits is set to be released soon bringing the long wait for fans to an end.

“The home kit is very similar to the ones shown in the picture here and will remind fans of the legend Paolo Di Canio.

“The away kit looks like the Argentina home shirt.”

Can’t wait

There’s always an excitement looking at the players in their new kit for the first time.

It adds to the drama that the opening day of the Premier League season brings, and with fans out for over a year, we can only imagine the sort of atmosphere that will be generated for our first home game of the season.

Typically our kits are out in June, but this time around maybe the delay is down to the fact that the kits are going to have a retro feel to them won’t be like the run-of-the-mill jerseys we’ve worn in the past.

As he’s mentioned previously, our home colours will be reminiscent of the 2000 Fila kit that was made famous by Di Canio’s scissor kick goal while our away one will be a remake of the 1992/93 ‘Bukhta’ Argentina jersey.

We can’t wait to get our hands on one and see the London Stadium filled with fans donning the new kit.
