ExWHUemployee: Filip Kostic does not fancy West Ham move after fresh talks held

Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Filip Kostic is reportedly not keen on moving to West Ham after he had a fresh round of talks with them.

According to ExWHUemployee, talks were held on July 30 and the club have now decided that the player does not fancy a London Stadium move and instead wants to become a free agent.

The Hammers are keen on signing a left-back this summer and David Moyes had identified the Serbian as one of the primary targets.

Ex wrote, “We can confirm that after talks today it appears that West Ham have resigned themselves to the fact that Filip Kostic does not want to join the club at this point and in fact wishes to see out the final year of his contract and become a free agent next summer.

“This will then give him the chance to play Champions League football with Eintracht Frankfurt and concentrate on the World Cup with Serbia.

“This is disappointing news for David Moyes who had identified him as a key target.”

Move on

West Ham cannot waste time crying over spilt milk now and they must move on to other targets.

There is not long left before the season starts and signing a new left-back in time for the opener against Manchester City currently seems improbable.

We’re hoping that Rob Newman has identified backup targets to Kostic as he cannot be the be all and end all of this summer.

Moyes too, will have players on his mind who he would like to sign and we’re expecting conversations between the two sooner rather than later.

However, it’s safe to say that Aaron Cresswell is likely to start the first Premier League game of the season – something that Moyes would not have wanted.

As things stand, the club look no closer to signing a new left-back and it remains to be seen if there are any developments this coming week.
