ExWHUemployee disagrees with Andriy Yarmolenko’s West Ham U23 red card

ExWHUemployee has taken to Twitter to rubbish the controversial events that took place during West Ham under-23s win over Swansea.

It was an eventful afternoon for Andriy Yarmolenko who scored for the young Hammers before being sent off.

Ex agreed with a disgruntled Hammers fan who insisted the referee’s decision to show the 32-year-old a red card for an apparent elbow was wrong.

He tweeted: “The under 23s ref is the next in line to try and get some attention off the back of us this week.”

Ex the responded “spot on” to a fan who made a series of points disproving the red card.

Time to go

It was never a red card. There was absolutely no malice or intent for the senior West Ham man.

Your arms move when you play football and Yarmolenko was simply looking to shield off the opposition player whilst getting control of the ball.

It needs to be remembered that football is a contact sport, and it wouldn’t have been a huge shock if play continued with not even a freekick given it was that trivial of an offence.

The Ukrainian’s West Ham career has gone completely down the toilet recently.

West Ham

There was a real buzz when the maestro joined in 2018 with his ability clear to see but to say he failed to live up to expectation would be an understatement.

The club have completely left him behind and he is at an age now where his best years are behind him and he should be moved on to make room for younger, better players who won’t demand such a high wage.

His reaction to the Irons’ late winner against Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup summed his attitude up. He didn’t even celebrate with the team and seemed to throw his toys out of the pram after putting in an average at best performance against a non-league side.

It seems to be problem after problem for the winger with the fans losing patience with him.
