ExWHUemployee clarifies reports of Arnaut Danjuma closing in on West Ham move
ExWHUemployee has rubbished claims that West Ham are closing in on a move for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.
According to the Daily Mirror’s printed edition (3 July, page 73), the 25-year-old attacker is on his way to the London Stadium, having already agreed personal terms with the club.
However, that story is untrue, according to the information provided by the reliable Hammers insider.

He wrote, “The Daily Mirror have said that personal terms have been agreed and he is expected to complete his move to the club. We have been in touch with people close to the player and the club to verify this information and we have been told that it is not true. The deal as it stands is currently off and this is a false report.”
Makes sense
It was understood that the club ended their quest to sign the Netherlands international so this came as a surprise.
The Hammers are not prioritising wingers at the moment, with a striker still being at the top of their transfer wishlist.
Danjuma is a quality player, but he’s not going to be cheap so it makes sense not to pursue his services at this stage in the window.
The Hammers need to get in a striker first and have identified Armando Broja as an option.
However, Chelsea may choose to play hard ball and act pricey in order to sanction the Albanian’s exit.
West Ham may have to pay over the top for him, but he’s one of the players who’ll be worth it while Danjuma clearly will not.
