Exit-linked West Ham star Callum Wilson sends two-word message as Premier League deal done
Callum Wilson is expected to leave West Ham United in the January transfer window.
Wilson only completed his move to the London Stadium last summer, joining on a free, but he looks set to depart just six months later.
The former England international failed to agree a new deal with Newcastle United at the end of last season, after spending five years at St James’ Park.
He is clearly still close with some of his former teammates and has reacted to the news that the Magpies have tied one of their stars down to a new deal.
Callum Wilson reacts to new Newcastle deal
Wilson has made 17 appearances in the Premier League for West Ham this season, but has been left out of the last two matchday squads by Nuno Espirito Santo as he looks for a move away.
The 33-year-old does have four top-flight goals to his name for the Hammers, but is clearly well down the pecking order under Nuno.
When Wilson does eventually depart the London Stadium, he will be looking for his third club in less than a year, after leaving Newcastle in the summer.
He is still watching events at St James’ Park, though, and has reacted to the news that centre-back Sven Botman has penned a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the Magpies.
Botman will remain on Tyneside until the summer of 2030, and posted a photo of him signing his contract on Instagram.
Wilson was quick to recognise the Dutchman’s new deal, commenting: “Congrats bro.”
Are West Ham making the right decision with Callum Wilson?
With Wilson set to leave this month, Nuno has managed to bring in two new frontmen to help the Hammers’ survival push.
Taty Castellanos has joined West Ham from Lazio, with Pablo Felipe coming in from Portuguese outfit Gil Vicente.
The pair cost around £45million together, but neither have any Premier League experience.
On the other hand, Wilson has 92 top-flight goals to his name, across spells at Bournemouth, Newcastle and West Ham.

It is incredibly risky for the East London side to be discarding a player with such a history of finding the back of the net in the Premier League, especially when they are seven points adrift of safety.
Nuno will be hoping that Castellanos and Pablo hit the ground running at West Ham, otherwise the decision to push Wilson out the door could come back to haunt him.
