West Ham are looking to raise funds as they’re eyeing a last-minute move for Torino defender Ola Aina, according to ExWHUemployee.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, the reliable Hammers inside said that the 25-year-old is very keen on moving to the London Stadium.

It’s down to how much they can raise to convince the Serie A side to sell after seeing an opening bid for him rejected.

When asked about the Nigerian’s intentions, “Yes, very keen [on moving to West Ham] and we need to raise money.”

Big move

Aina’s signing may not have been a priority at the start of the summer.

However, now that West Ham are going back in and looking to raise funds possibly for another offer, it is only good news.

Aina is someone who can play at right-back, centre-back as well as left-back – making him a complete defender.

He’s got Premier League and international experience with Nigeria and would certainly tick a number of boxes at West Ham.

Given Vladimir Coufal’s age and form, we will not be surprised if Aina competes for a starting berth with him while Ben Johnson could also be thrown into the mix to play as a right-sided centre-back with West Ham moving to a back three.

The Hammers had their scout at a Championship game on Saturday so we will not be surprised if one of 22 players in the starting eleven from that game end up at London Stadium before 11pm as well.
