West Ham United send statement with Evan Ferguson signing
Graham Potter’s side have sent a statement to their Premier League rivals by securing Ferguson’s services, and the sentiment is certainly not lost in East London.

The Gunners were not the only English side in the race for the Republic of Ireland international – Chelsea and Everton were mooted as potential landing spots and, according to The Sun (1 February), were considering an offer to blow the Hammers out of the water.
Regardless, Potter has got his man and the West Ham faithful couldn’t be happier. Indeed, ex-player Tony Cottee believes the acquisition represents “the start of a new era”.

The supporters will be eager to see their new centre-forward in action, but Potter must now leave the transfer dealings to Kyle Macaulay and focus on returning to winning ways at Stamford Bridge on Monday (3 February).
If all goes according to plan, Ferguson will be in the stands in West London to see his new side secure three valuable points against a team he could have joined over West Ham.
