English clubs in race to sign Conor Coventry on loan
Peterborough United are leading the race to sign West Ham midfielder Conor Coventry on loan this summer, claims ExWHUEmployee.
The reliable Hammers insider has said that a lot of Championship clubs are also keen on signing the player, with Hull City being among them.
League One sides Coventry City and Rotherham United are also keeping tabs on the player.

Coventry has impressed in pre-season thus far and many believed he would stay at the club to add to the side’s depth.
Thus far, the club or the player have not decided on his future and he is expected to feature in today’s game against Brentford.
Ex wrote, “Peterborough United lead the chase for the Irish midfielder but there are a host of other championships sides interested including Hull and some league one sides such as Rotherham and Coventry.
“The midfielder is set to feature in the friendly for West Ham today and now the player and club need to decide whether he stays at West Ham and provides cover for the midfield or whether he is allowed to go to the championship and be a first team regular.”
Must keep him
The 21-year-old may not be first-team level yet but he’s certainly on the cusp of it and with a year or two playing as an understudy to the likes of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, he could be knocking on the manager’s door for a first-team berth.
Given how slow our transfer business has been this summer, signing a midfielder good enough to deputise for Rice or Soucek and still be content to play as a backup is not going to be easy.
Coventry can instead stay at the club and learn the ropes from Mark Noble who’s revered in the dressing room and among the youngsters.

He could even mould his game around the Englishman as he has touches of Noble and does occupy positions one would often find Rice in.
Fans would certainly get behind a player like Coventry and give him time to bed in as it will be his first season as a first-team player.
He could play in the cup games and come on for the odd Premier League game.
Even in the Europa League if we have the luxury of playing dead rubbers in the group stage, giving Coventry minutes on the continental stage will do wonders for his confidence.
